SOPA and PIPA - Why JamesAxler.com went dark yesterday
By Ron Miles on

Unless you are living under a rock without an internet connection (and if you are, how in the heck are you reading this), you almost certainly know that yesterday, January 18, 2012, was a large-scale internet protest against the proposed SOPA and PIPA legislation in the United States congress. Many major websites, including Wikipedia and Reddit, went dark for the day and instead served up messages askingĀ American citizens to contact their representatives to oppose the proposed laws. JamesAxler.com joined in that protest, and I feel like today I owe you an explanation as to why. First off, let me say categorically that piracy is bad. I just finished writing a new post for this week, which will go live in a few minutes, and rather than back-dating it I have finally admitted to myself that I'm just not going to catch up that way. So, thank you to everyone who emailed me asking about when there would be new material. It is gratifying to know that people are actually reading this blog, and I appreciate your support....

Welcome to the inaugural entry for PostApocalyptica, the new weekly blog for JamesAxler.com dedicated to the post-apocalyptic genre in literature, film, and television. Beginning on July 4th, every Monday morning at 9am Eastern Time I will post a new blog entry on some topic related to Deathlands, Outlanders, Gold Eagle, or the post-apocalyptic genre in general. My hope is that these posts will spur conversation and engage more fully with the JamesAxler.com membership.
