Ryan Cawdor for all his combat prowess was an idiot. Why do I say this...well...how many times through out the series was he told "Don't go there, you'll regret it if you do..." and how many times did he ignore that advice? How many times did he ask his companions their opinions and when they all said "No way.." how many times did he ignore them and go on into where ever it was they didnt want to go?
Trust me I understand that without Ryan's idiotic notions there wouldnt be a series of books in the first place but it's just a little frustrating that he is respnosible for some of their biggest mistakes. It doesn take a genius to say "Hmmm...over here there are mutants who want to eat me...Guess I won't go that way..."
And then after the fact he appligizes and they all just go along with it. Sorry...if the leader of a group I was in was constantly ignoring the group when they said don't go that way then that leader would soon find himself alone, tied to a tree and covered in honey.
Anyway...that's just my opinion....again I understand that he is the way he is for the sake of the series but man...
