Which books seem to be harder to come by?

I'm a returning Deathlands reader (its been many years), noob to this site and am looking to start putting together the complete collection.  It would be nice to know what to keep an eye out for, and what prices for the books (on average or for particular hard-to-find books) are reasonable.

How long did it take everyone to "complete" their collection.  (As complete as you can get with an ongoing series like Deathlands.)

To me both DL and OL are hard to come by, I live in the UK and have to wait for Amazon.co.uk to send them out to me weeks (sometimes upwards of 2 months) after the publication date. There was a time years back when I used to get them direct from GE but when they ripped me off to the tune of $50 I knocked it in the head.

My DL collection has taken since 198-something to collect, from the time the first book appeared in W.H.Smiths. Ol has taken a little less time maybe since the late 90's. I was never a fan of OL for quite some time and then tried book 1 again for the 4th or 5th time and never looked back.

Keep an eye on E-Bay you can always find the books there going at various prices from a few dollars for 4 or more books to around $5 a go for OL books. Amazon or Barnes and Noble are also worth checking out.

Welcome aboard,

That's just how the photo is cropped.  There are actually four full shelves underneath there, ready to expand into.

Good god man how tall high are the walls in your rooms, they must be like Helms deep to allow a bookcase with that many shelves

Re: Complete Set

One of the big selling points of our house when we bought it was that there was a room appropriate for a home office.  Looking around the room I have built:

  • On one wall, six feet of paperback depth floor to ceiling bookshelves
  • On the next wall, a built in desktop set into the corner with wall mounted monitor and speakers, and a drawer unit under the window with copious storage
  • Wrapping into the next wall is another two feet of floor to ceiling paperback bookshelves, which wrap around the corner into eight feet of full depth floor to ceiling bookshelves
  • The final wall has an eight foot built in desktop with two workstation areas and built in filing between them, a wall mounted stereo unit (with iPod dock), wall mounted speakers, and dual wall mounted monitors in my primary work area.  The second work area is for my laptop, and for any guests who stay with us.

I just couldn't live without books, man.
