I'm just about finished this one, and it's been quite brilliant so far. The thing I appreciate the most about Mr. Roger's books are the strong supporting characters he creates. Also, if I have to wait 2 more years - the amount of time between Blood Red Tide, Hell Road Warriors and Blood Harvest - for another DL penned by Chuck, I'll probably riot. It will be a miniscule and inconsequential riot, but a riot nontheless.

I've got the Molotov's ready. Mr Squid, Manrape et al brilliant. I've just finished rereading Blood Harvest and there was an amazing supporting cast in it as well.
Mr Rogers along with Mr Philipson should split the writing of the series between them with a Vic Milan book every so often. We Axlerites know what we want, so should GE.

Like a man drowning in a sea of endless banality, I grabbed and grasped at the next DL book in the series after Desolation angels and hoped that it would provide just a brief sweet taste of something beyond the darkness I had been traveling through these last several outings.

With morose forbidding I opened the cover and began to take it its offerings...

...Oh the joy, oh the sweet feeling of once more letting my eyes fall on well constructed prose, from the very first page I KNEW this was what I was wanting. Like a man denied good food for so long, the first taste of this was pure heaven!

What a stonker of a book. The characters, the setting, the everything is just first class -OK I hate the cover, but nothing is perfect is it? I'm looking forward to picking it up to continue and feeling anger when forced to put it down.

Chuck you have done us proud and I'm looking forward to digesting this one as much as I did LJ's work.

Jim

I'm on my second reading of this one and its one of (if not) the best post LJ books to date. It reads like a DL should, its intelligent, the characters are all in full 3D and the story is well planned and executed.

A full five stars from me on this one.

Jim

About 2/3 through this one, and I have to say that this is one of the best adventure stories I've read in a very, very long time. Period. Seriously, it's a damned excellent book. This book deserves every praise possible. Five out of five. I have not been able to put it down.
