Baron Cobalt

Baron Cobalt is the head of Cobaltville in Colorado. Like all hybrids he considers himself above humanity, almost divine nature. The baron has rarely been seen by anyone except his personal staff and attendants. He knows about Kane, as well his father and Grandfather. All three Kane's served under the baron, and at least both Kane and his Father had been introduced into the Trust.

After suffering a near death experience at the hands of Kane in the Dulce redoubt while undergoing his annual cleansing, Baron Cobalt set up a special task force lead by Salvo to bring the renegade back to the barony so he could personally deal with him. The baron was humiliated and could not bear to suffer the memory of what Kane had done to him. He wanted the renegade to suffer long and greatly for what he did.

In the year since his humiliation, the baron has let the anger and hate build and almost totally consume him.  During this time, he, working along with the other barons, had all the various redoubts across the Outlands inspected. He knew that Kane and the other Exiles were using one as a base of operations.

It is also during this period of time that he realized that Lakesh was not what he originally thought. He discovered that Lakesh was indeed a traitor to him and the program of unification. This didn't help his temperament.

With the destruction of the facilities in Dulce New Mexico, albeit a byproduct of of the destruction of the Aurora, he has decided to take total control of the Barons.  They would still control their own private baronies but he would be the overall ruler of the entire barony network across the Outlands.

To achieve this goal, he has gone as far as to send in Magistrate teams to other baron's territories to harvest entire villes. The organs and genetic material would then be used for his for his own personal benefit.  If the other barons didn't fall in line, they would weaken and sicken, dying shortly afterwards.

He discovered Area 51 while going through Lakesh's personal files, and it held all the equipment and facilities that he needed to pull off his plan to dominate the other Barons.  He transferred the remaining Hybrid personnel from the ruins of Dulce to Area 51, and instituted a breeding program where the hybrid females would mate with human males to create a new generation, as the last generation of Hybrids, numbering 2000, were all but destroyed along with Dulce New Mexico.

Baron Cobalt is a true megalomaniac among the barons.  He is willing to risk the extinction of his race in order to achieve his own goals.  He even went as far as to defy Balam and the new Imperator at Front Royal, believing that he could become the Hybrids salvation because of controlling AREA 51, although it didn't fall under his jurisdiction.  It is actually in the territory controlled by Snakefish.

Despite his rage towards Kane, when the Exile was captured he promised the man he wouldn't let him die. Instead, he made Kane into his prize stud, put to use six times every two days. Until Kane escaped.

Cobalt is a dangerous and unstable hybrid.
