Kane and company travel to England and find themselves in a gateway that was located in the remains of Wildwood. A century before the compound was run by a geneticist who planned to wipe out humanity but was thwarted inadvertently by a band of nomads. The compound was abandoned but eventually discovered and guarded by the Dragoon's under Lord Strongbow. They are captured by lord Strongbow's Dragoons and taken away from the place. They don't use it to get home, instead they use Lakesh's experimental interphaser to return home.
