Seriously though you have a great idea as I have read on some of the other posts and my pal AEOC had his ass reamed over discussing guns more than once with people citing it as a"beaten to death topic".(maybe it is if you are a veteran,but alot of us are new members right?)

I find discussing firearms much more interesting than what is more believable "The Interphaser or The Mat Trans".One place where I noticed one guy(not gonna name him,haha(making some smart ass remarks towards guy's like us because we are more interested in discussing something pertinent to Death Lands instead of Outlanders.
Maybe we should discuss who is cooler:Captain Kirk or Captain Picard for the anti gun people?LOL!!!!!!!

It has to be Picard as he uses a Mark IIIb Phaser rifle, but I don't recall either being in a DL or OL book

Look on the left pane.  Click the "Groups" link

You will see in the description that in creating a group, you get your own forum.  Once you create your group, Click on "Discussions" and there is your forum.  All you need to do is create it. Check it out

Yup. You can create any group you like, and as the owner/creator of the group you can invite anyone you like to join the group. Creating a new group automatically creates a new forum for you here on the message board that only people belonging to that group can see. It is the perfect solution, in that it allows people to talk about whatever esoteric things they want to without being distracted by "done to death" nay sayers.

Go forth and create ye a group! And let me know if you have any questions or issues, I will be happy to help facilitate the new group in any way I can.

I would like to participate in a weapons group if one is formed, though I'm not 100% sure it is the right answer since new members of the forum might not notice it and would probably post some of the same questions we are discussing to the general discussion boards and be disparaged by petulant old wrinklies then leave without knowing that we do have an active discussion of such topics.

Actually B.T.S. I think the ak74 is far superior ans so must the Russkies since they only equip their Spetznaz elite troops with it.In my opinion though all Ak's are pieces of junk.I was in the gun store today and out of 4 ak 47's only one did not give me the utmost difficulty removing and replacing the 30 rd bannana clip mag.The AR 15(M16) is so much of a better designed weapon it's ridiculous.

I'm gonna start it! Hopefully we can get a few more people to show... yeah i know all about KY..I was there last year for my company for the NRA show and found it amazing to see peeps walking up with their guns on them...for a former NY resident like me..that is nuts..thankfully MD (where i am now) the laws are a tab more lax...i'd still like a CCW but can't without a good reason (like carrying $$ everyday) oh well...

Maybe I am wrong,but I would think due to the nature of Death Lands being a men's action/SciFi series that is very gun based,we would have more members?Who does not own or use a gun in this world that we live in?Are we the ones who are clueless?Or the guy's who will be screwed when something happen's and they will need a gun?Harsh language alone might not stop a mugger or protect your family.

The world is not just the United States. Yes we have gun crime but I feel safer walking around without one knowing they are illegal than wondering if everyone including the paperboy is packing a suprise.

Your point of view is completely understandable Jim, if I lived in a society where the only people who carried were either the govt. or criminals, I would feel compelled to follow the law... I live right outside of Detroit and drive bys, gang fights, gunshots and things like that are a fact of life here... BTS and OEV I do understand both your points of view and sadly the carrying of firearms is getting more and more common this side of the pond by those kids who think themselves "Gangsta's".
It is a sad fact that:

1) There are now more fireams in the UK than BEFORE they made them illlegal !!

2) On any given Saturday afternoon here in Liverpool city center 1 in every 7.4 people you pass is carrying a pistol of some sort. (Saturdays are used as more people visit the city center on that day on average). Furthermore 1 in every 4 is likely to be carrying a blade of some sort (again illegal here) !!

As a gun owner..i can understand the non-owner's mentality. The hope thta nothign will go wrong, the feeling people have about them..and the desire to keep the violence away from their family. Guns scare people..they really do. I've seen it up close and personal....i feel safer than i own one..that i know how to use it..and that i have the ability to defend my house and family...but my dad has never really ever owned one..my brother doesn't...and nor do most of my family..the in-laws don't etc...my cousin is a hunter so we chat guns here and there...but most people i know don't own or don't want to...their right...and their hope the world stays safe for them...i will always own something to defend my family...

Thats because only about 3% of those 1000 members have ever posted a message here
Just think how busy this message board would be if 1000 people posted here on a regular basis. In reality I think we have 6 or 7 people who have ever posted more than a dozen messages here !!
So 3 members in your group equates to around 50% of the regular membership which is none too bad really.
