HAARP and Thermonic Autogenic Robotic Assistance (TARA) data network outfeed
HAARP stood for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. Unlike the other Totality concept projects, this one was not kept secret. The technology behind the project predates the Totality concept by decades.
A nineteenth century inventor named Nikola Tesla was the pioneer of much of the technology behind this project.
Installed in Redoubt Zulu (The Alaskan redoubt encountered in Red Holocaust, Dark Reckoning, and Doomstar Relic). The redoubt was chosen because of its location, in the Alaskan wilderness, thus giving it the privacy needed. It was built on an existing military facility under the cover of a joint Air Force and Navy venture. In actuality the United States was working with a Russian Team, who had their own version, known as SURA.
One aspect of the HAARP project was weather control. Also known as IRI or Ionospheric Research Instrument. When it was constructed it was the largest high frequency radio transmitter ever built. It was designed to concentrate several thousand megawatts into an intense beam of almost unimaginable strength, transmitted through miles of planar antenna arrays on short wave band.
Because of this HAARP was able facilitate enormous in the upper atmosphere with a focused and steerable electromagnetic beam, generating enormously high changes degrees of heat. When fully activated the HAARP would bring the Ionosphere from its usual height of forty to sixty miles above the surface a great deal closer. This would cause incredibly violent weather, if so desired, unlike which hasn't been seen since the Skydark.
In the book it had been used to create a temperate climate within five miles radius of redoubt Zulu, the weather being turned to match that of a pleasant summer day, where all around it the frozen wastes still reigned supreme.
The HAARP can function like the reversal of old radio telescopes. It focuses a giant Gigawatt beam of energy on the ionosphere, which bounces back to Earth and penetrates everything. The reflected beam can travel along the planets magnetic mantel, and the impulses will vibrate geomagnetic flux lines. This could cause an instant earthquake.
Another aspect of the HAARP project is that it could be used for mind control, to turn all of humanity into obedient puppets. By using Pulse-Radio-Frequency radiation, it can disturb and manipulate human mental process. Electromagnetic waves can produce mild to severe psychological disruption or perceptual distortion.
Redoubt Zulu was to have been the nexus of this planet wide mind control device. There were other installations built across the globe, but Redoubt Zulu was the main research center and heart of the project.
It would have been a method of resolving countless conflicts or global problems without resorting to the use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons.
Information on TARA (Thermonic Autogenic Robotic Assistance)
The project was kept in nearly impossibly deep cold. The room was kept in this deepfreeze, as well as in perpetual darkness. The entrance was a long hexagonal shaft, the sharply angled walled glassy and gray. A low hum filled the passageway. Behind the walls could be seen incredibly complex woven patterns of circuitry.
The corridor ended in a nearly perfect circle. It was ringed by a near continuous lap level consol, studded with alternating white and red buttons. Small readout displays were spread out along the length as well.
In the center of the room rose a low chrome dais. This Dais supported a couch with curved sides. On the couch was the body of a woman. She was tightly wrapped up in Muslin-like fabrics. Even with the deep freeze, it was clear that she had died many, many years before. Attached to her head was a crown of metal, inscribed with micro circuitry. Thread like filaments flowed from the crown to a multitude of sockets on the consol directly behind her. On the forpart of the crown gleamed a small round convex lens crafted of dark crystal. The crown was wired directly into her naked skull.
Her right arm was also visible. Tiny fiber-optic filaments from the tips of four of her fingers to four buttons on a consol.
Communication with the HAARP computer was achieved via a holographic representation of the computer personality, TARA. The holograph was that of a sensual nude woman with taunt, tip-tilted breasts, long legs and a beautiful face above a lovely throat line. She was completely hairless with the exception being a suggestion of aristocratically arched eyebrows and eyelashes. The near translucent skin exuded a faint glow.
Not only did TARA control HAARP, but she was also linked to the Doomstar.
Originally Anne Malloy, director of Project Eurydice, linked up with the computer becoming Tara a few years after the Skydark, when it was abandoned. She did this because she felt it was her duty as the designer and part of the military. Even though her body died many decades before, her mind still lived on as part of TARA and the computer interface.
Roberta J. Berrier was forcibly interfaced with the TARA program. There was no way that she could be taken out without killing her.
As a side note, this is actually one of the un-answered questions regarding the redoubt in Red Holocaust. The HAARP project was what was hidden behind the locked doorway Ryan and his people had encountered.
