Note: The following information was used directly from Exile to Hell, Outlanders book 1.

Para-Terrestrial Biological Entity (Re. III, Archon Directive Perspective).

The Typical PTEB as represented by participants in the Archon Directive at the Dulce installation can be described as follows:

1. Between three to five feet in height.

2. Erect-standing biped. Short thin legs.

3. Gracile skeletal structure

4. Cranium larger than normal human proportions.

5. Absence of auditory lobes (external ear apparatus).

6. Absence of body hair

7. Large, tear shaped eyes, generally opaque black with vertical slit pupils.

8. Eyes slanted approx. thirty-five degrees.

9. Small straight mouth, thin lips.

10. Disproportionately long arms.

11. Tough gray epidermis

12. Internal organs similar to humans', but developed and arranged differently.

13. Blood type is RH (re Basque people)

14. Signifcant secondary findings after permitted study indicates that the PTBEs require human blood plasma and other human biological substances to survive. In extreme circumstances, they can subsist on other animal fluids, such as cattle or other domesticated animals.

It is also known that the Archons are telepathic and share a 'mind link' with other memebers of thier race. This link also extends to the Baron Hybrids, as was demonstrated with the death of Baron Ragnar in Doomstar Relic. The death caused Balam to become physically ill. But this link appears to be either non existant or much weaker in the other hybrids (the ones located in the Dulce redoubt, as Balam didn't react to their deaths).

The Archons are capable of speech, but they prefer to use telepathic communication. They are also capable of taking physical control of humans as Balam demonstrated in Iceblood. A typical reaction to this usage is a headache, dehydration and exhaustion. Banks suffered no long term side effects from it.

The Archons have been intertwined with humanity since the earliest historical records of mankind. They are linked througout the worst events. War, famine, plagues, natural disasters. They have always had humans willing to help. The way they would influence the affairs of humanity is the fact that they would establish a privilaged ruling class that were dependent upon them. These ruling class puppets would then influence the government or religous body.

The Archons were the cause of world war two. There were secret societies that flurished in Germany before the war, before the rise of the Nazi power. A couple of the societies, such as the Thule or Vril were in contact with the Archons who were also known as the secret cheifs. With the help of the Archons, the nazi's made incredible advances in technology, including the prototype of the aircraft known before the war as UFO's or Unidentified Flying Objects.

The defeat of the Germans and Nazi's was also a defeat for the Archons.

More data to follow.

rchon genes were very malleable, easily mingling with the genes of others. The Hybrids and Barons are the direct result of splicing the best of human genes with that of the Archons.

However, Archons are NOT aliens. Balam claims that they are human, and native to Earth. It turns out that humanity cut the ties that bound the Archons and Humanity together, forcing them to draw further and further apart. They might have shared the world with humanity if it wasn't for the slings and stones and spears of humanity.  The Archons were not aliens, but they were Alienated.

The Archons gave humanity the legacy of science and spirit but humanity allowed it to drift into madness.

Balam is the last Archon on Earth. There is really no Archon Directorate. It was actually created by humans. They created the Archon Directorate appellation for the sake of simplicity, to ease clerical chores.

The Archons mastered space and hyper-dimensional travel aeons ago.  the Archons severed, either by accident or design, and sometimes both, as a source of myth cycles, religion and secret societies.

Revelation about the Archons, humanities cousins were kept hidden for thousands of years. It is possible that they may have accelerated humanities spiritual evolution. The scientific advances were doled out piecemeal until humanities fixation with technology reached a critical point.

Which turned out to be one of many Cataclysms.

The Skydark was the ultimate baptism of fire for humanity to overcome, to have humanities collective spirit grow strong or shatter forever, bringing about humanities extinction.

Balam IS the Archon Directive.  He has influenced humanity for several hundred years.  The final card in Balam's hand was the creation of the Hybrids, bridging humanity and the Archons, allowing the Archon race to live on in another form.  The race began to lose it's fight with extinction approximately 20,000 years before.

When Kane attacked Balam he was given a vision. He witnessed a huge city of dark stone rising at the base of snowcapped mountains.  A massive, round column of white rose from the center of the city, jutting at least 300 feet into the sky. It was the basis for the Administrative Monoliths in the Baronies. Though the lines of the structures looked simple, they possessed a quality that eluded real comprehension to their size and shape, as if they had been built to architectural principles just slightly apart from those the human brain could absorb.

From the city rose silvery disks, some tiny and fragile appearing, others gargantuan in size. Through the city people traveled about their daily business. They were dome skulled creatures, tall and graceful with huge opalescent eyes and pale, bluish tinted flesh.

They were the result of a pact between two races which had warred over Earth. They were a bridge. Not only between the two warring races but also from them would spring the blood of humanity. They were mortal, although exceptionally long lived and shared the same emotions as mankind, feeling love and hate, joy and sadness. The cities were centers of learning and the citizens never suffered from want.

Their duty was to keep the secrets of their ancient ancestors alive, but not to make the same mistakes as their forbearers, especially in their dealings with mankind.

Humanity was struggling to overcome a global cataclysm, striving again for civilization.  The graceful folk in the cities and outposts did what they could to help humanity rebuild. They insinuated themselves in schools and political circles prompting and assisting men into making the right decisions.

They sought out humans with vision, with superior traits and mingled their blood with them, initiated them into their secrets, and advised them. On many continents - Mu, Gondawara, Hyberborea, Atlantis, - many new centers of learning arose. From these Empires and Dynasties spread out, spreading the seeds of civilization.

The folk had no god, no true deity that they worshipped.  But they valued a Relic, a Totem, an Oracle. It took the shape of a black, yet shining object. The facets were highly polished but it didn't resemble a stone. It was a sculpture, incorporating many of the geometric principles as the city itself. It pulsed with life, but wasn't alive. It exuded an immeasurable intelligence, but it wasn't sentient. The Trapezohedron was the sum total of all that the root races knew and believed. It was a teacher, a means of communication, a key to parallel casements. The Trapezohedron wasn't a deity, but it was the heart of the civilization.

After uncounted years came another Cataclysm. The magnetic centers shifted, the great glaciers and ice centers at the poles withdrew towards new positions Vast portions of the ocean floor rose while others sank. The configuration of the Earth was forever altered.

Convulsions shook the mountains and the nights blazed with flame spouting volcanoes. Earthquakes shook the city. Many died quickly while others lasted for years in a state of near Death. The vast knowledge of their ancestors became their only means of survival.

After consulting the stone, it showed the survivors how to build thresholds to other casements.

In the unfathomable past, the root races had used such thresholds, knowing that Earth was the end of a parallel axis of these casements.

The stone also suggested that they change themselves with the world, to alter their physiologies. Using ancient techniques, the ancients changed itself in order to survive. Muscle tissue became less dense, motor reflexes sharpened, optic capacities broadened.  A new range of abilities was developed, which just allowed them to live on the planet whose magnetic fields had changed, whose weather was drastically unpredictable.

Their need for sustenance steered away from the near depleted resources of their environment. They found new means of nourishment other than ingestion of bulk matter.

The race of proud, teachers and artisans degenerated and scattered, becoming a lost tribe hiding in the wilderness. They had no choice but to abandon the city. A few stayed behind, trying to adapt, the land changing them before they could change the land. Their physical appearance altered further as they retreated. The changes were subtle, gradual. In adapting themselves to the changing conditions of the planet. Those who had been graceful neogods became small, furtive shadow dwellers. Only a handful stayed in the walls of their once proud city. The new generations born to them were distortions of what they used to be. The weak died before they could produce offspring, and the infant mortality rate was frightfully high for a thousand years. They did not leave the ruins to see how humanity had faired in the aftermath of the changes.

Humanity adapted much faster than they had, and new generations began to explore and conquer. And they conquered with a vengeance that spilled oceans of blood. In their explorations they found the city and entered it. They murdered and pillaged, stealing facets of the stone as well.

Although they had been decimated, they fought back, using the powers they had developed over the centuries.  The humans fled in terror but they knew that others would be returning. They knew that they couldn't hope to defeat the humans so decided the best thing to do would be to control them. If nothing else they still had the monumental pride of their people and the devotion to the continuity of their people. To accomplish that they had to retreat even further.

Deep in a hidden cavern they hid the stone and it sent out a broadcast "We are here, come join us."  A pitifully small number did, descending into the earth to live and plan. One who came was the last of the parent race, unchanged even after so many years. His name was Lam and he rallied the survivors, becoming their spiritual leader. He knew that they couldn't stay hidden forever, nor did they care to stay hidden. The human race could not be influenced without interaction.

Under Lam's guidence, his people arose once again into the world, and influenced the Phoenicians, the Romans, the Sumerians, the Egyptians and the Aztecs.  Lam was known throughtout human historical epochs, but by names such as Orsiris, Quetzacoatal, Nyarlthotep, Tsong Kaba, and many others.

Legends filtered out among holy men about the underground city beneath Asia. It was called many things, Hsi Wang Mu, Bhogavati, Shamballah, Agartha. Myth and yearning built Agartha into a noble and beautiful metropolis with streets paved in mosaics of emeralds, rubies and diamonds. It was in reality nothing but a refuge for those few that still remained.

Although their lifespans had been reduced over the generations, they were still very long lived. But they weakened and died while the human race was still young and virile. Within humans laid their salvation.

As they were themselves products of genetic manipulation Lam turned to humanity, first to restore their own flagging virility, then to carry their seed onward so they wouldn't vanish.

Most of the experiments took place in Asia and there were many failures. Sterility was common in the hybrids.  Finally seven hybrids were born in Agartha who could reproduce. The seeds of Lams once proud race lived, albeit in diluted form. If there were such a thing as pure blooded hybrids, these seven were it. These hybrids were slender and compact in form, amber skinned, wearing simple draperies, huge eyes displaying wisdom but little passion. They were attuned to the Chintamani stone. They used it to manipulate the properties of the stolen facets, to lead those humans seeking Agartha away from the city.

With Lam as their guide, the seven ventured into the world, visiting Lamaseries, teaching lessons as their forefathers had. Legends collected around them and they became known as the Eight immortals.

But they were not immortals and they eventually died, but not before spreading the concept of Agartha, the mystical community that guided the evolution of humanity. In reality it was a beacon to draw the lost people to the city.

In the centuries that followed Lam and his people continued to interact and influence human affairs from the economic to spiritual. They allowed things to happen that they could have stopped, or nudged events in another direction. Employing technology left behind by their forebearers they visited their ancestors base on the moon and other planets in the solar system.

That is how Balam ended up in Siberia. He was returning from a mission when his ship malfunctioned. He spent 30 years in suspended animation until discovered by a Russian scientific team.

After another crash in the late 1940's, an Agarthan emissary was dispatched to Europe on a two fold mission. First to sprinkle fanciful tails about the hidden city with its perfect beings with diplomatic ties to extraterrestrials, and to make sure that the Roswell incident was properly covered up. The ambassador, who went by the name Maha Chohan, was one of the most human appearing of the hybrids.  He possessed a glib tongue and pronounced psionic abilities. He was instrumental in getting the Soviets to Release Balam to the states.

By the middle of the twentieth century, Balam's people dwindled and humanities population exploded. All that was left of the Seven Immortals were their bones, scattered around the altar that contained the stone.

The truth behind the Archons and their people.
