To set your avatar, your signature, and other settings like that, just click on the icon at the top of the forum that looks like a gear.  That will take you to the user settings screen, where you can configure to your heart's content.  I've got it all working now, at least as near as I can tell.  As always, please let me know if you encounter any problems.

    Not thick at all.

Click on the icon at the top that looks like a gear, that will take you to the User Settings screen.  There are several sections there, and most of them are collapsed.  Expand out "User Settings", which is the third section.  The last line there is for your avatar.  There is a drop-down list, which is probably empty for you.  There is also a textbox with a browse button.  Click the browse button, and browse to the avatar image on your local machine.  Then click "Upload New File", and it will upload the new file.  I think then you have to go back to that drop-down and select the file from the list, and then click "Add".  You should then see the avatar image appear above the drop-down.  Once you have done all that, click "Update" at the very bottom of the screen.

Turns out I had a configuration setting wrong.  I was seeing it because I am an admin, but when I looked at it in my fake, non-admin, Dewey Cox disguise I could see what you are talking about.  It's fixed now.  Instead of a drop-down, you see the browse button.  Take a look, let me know what you think.

I was just about to post to say it was the same for me when your post appeared. Works now as you can see.

    Cheers Ron,

    Jim

    Ron,

Great site, some people are very cool and interested in actually discussing the books.Unfortunately I have noticed that a great deal seem more interested in fighting and now I have actually had someone refer to me as a "2 year old" whom I have had no previus conflict with.

This is not the reason I came to this site and I fear the reason there are not alot more members is directly related to name calling and insults.I admit I am guilty of throwing a few out myself after being provoked, something I am not going to do again as it is childish. It is difficult to ignore being called a 2 year old for no reason other than defending the writing of a dead author(Laurence James) though.

I hate to say this but I actually am starting to regret joining the site as I thought it would be fun to interact with other fans of the"Axler"books, instead of being called names and being insulted.

p.s.A certain member madea veiled threat about getting banned by making unsubstantiated clames against other members."One Eye Chills".I am not a tattletale and am not going to name names but it is there on the post to see.I do not wish to be "Banned" as hinted by this other member, but if I am then I will continue to buy the books and no one of these members can take that from me.
