Not sure what is up with that. Moonfeast is still listed on the US Amazon site, and in any case I can't imagine GE dropping it at this late date. I don't think it would have gone to the printer quite yet, but it has to be dang close. It's probably just a hiccup in distribution to other markets. It doesn't come out until November, I'd say hang tight and then try reordering in a month or so.

Seems unlikely. As I said, I am sure it is just a temporary glitch.

Again, this is a book that doesn't come out until November. I wouldn't worry about it four months out. Just check again in another month or so.

In case there were any lingering doubts as to the existence of this book, I am holding a copy in my hands right now. It arrived yesterday in my normal monthly GE shipment.

I saw it in B&N today. It's another Pollotta book - I could tell just be reading the back cover. It refers to "bio-weaps" and the plot looks to be identical to Savage Armada, just crammed into one book instead of three.

Bioweapons are a cool concept, but when you use the same ones over and over, it gets kind of old. Four-armed apes in the Marshall Islands (Savage Armada)? Okay, I can buy that. Four-armed apes in Utah (Desert Kings)? Umm... no.

Another outstanding book.  Well thought out, interesting, well written, seemed very realistic and didn't have any silly mistakes.

    I like it...you will toooooo.

Well what can I say? After spending so much time and effort to get a copy of this book I got one from Amazon.com (not Amazon.uk who don't appear to be stocking DL or OL any more).
Was it worth the trouble and wait to get hold of? In a word NO.
I am about 2/3 of the way through it and what has happened so far, ermm not a lot !!

    SPOILER ALERT

    EXCEPT Nick Potato has:
crammed it full of as many stupid "Bio-Weps" as he could
arm J.B with a sack of infinate pipe bombs.
use way too many pages on two pointless fights with the most stupid of creatures EVER (in my opinion)

I am going to force myself to finish this pile of -as NP likes to say, "Drek" in the hope that the groups main quest, to find a damn safety valve for a hundred year old engine, is fulfilled. This reason for the whole trek has to be the worst plot hook in history.

Sorry Grantbo I cant agree with yoooooooooooooou. So far 2½/10

OK I managed to finish it and sadly it got no better.

Monkeys with acid venom, I ask you...

Grantbo says it had no silly mistakes, however...

I do believe the LARC was designed and built in the early 50's not the 1940's when the author tells us it was. Perhaps he is thinking of the DUKW another six-wheel-drive amphibious truck used by the US Army during WW2?

Ryan and Jak swim out to the boat, they strip down and leave there clothes with the others on shore. They swim off holding a knife each between there teeth...

    They board the boat...

Jak uses two of his throwing knives and his .357
    Ryan uses his Sig

Where did they keep them, up there asses? If they bothered to keep the weapon belts with holsters why didn't they just keep the knives there too?

Jak falls overboard and is pulled out by Ryan, he then removes his jacket and hangs it up to dry -but its STILL with the others on shore?

Poor writing continuity and yet again more of the poor proof reading done on these books.

I can just about give this book 2½ / 10 and most of the 2½ is for the cover which for once has something to do with the story it binds.

You expected anything less? I can't believe you actually managed to finish it. You're either very determined or masochistic.

Monkeys with acid venom, I ask you...
He got tired of four-armed apes and hellcats? You gotta give him points for imagination, at least.

I do believe the LARC was designed and built in the early 50's not the 1940's when the author tells us it was. Perhaps he is thinking of the DUKW another six-wheel-drive amphibious truck used by the US Army during WW2?

This is the guy who stated that the C-130 Hercules had ejector seats (Savage Armada). And that the Marshall Islands had skyscrapers and a subway system.

Ryan and Jak swim out to the boat, they strip down and leave there clothes with the others on shore. They swim off holding a knife each between there teeth...

    They board the boat...

Jak uses two of his throwing knives and his .357

Where did they keep them, up there asses? If they bothered to keep the weapon belts with holsters why didn't they just keep the knives there too?

Jak falls overboard and is pulled out by Ryan, he then removes his jacket and hangs it up to dry -but its STILL with the others on shore?

Didn't Boot do much the same thing in Salvation Road, with the magical duplicating shotgun?

I can just about give this book 2½ / 10 and most of the 2½ is for the cover which for once has something to do with the story it binds.

You mean Jak was actually cowering from that giant pike/gar/whatever it was? Was that a "bioweap" too?

Your mixing the cover up with the next one, The cover of MF has the LARC and some monkeys (can't see their teeth though, so it loses ½ a point) on the cover. Hence the 2½ points

...And that the Marshall Islands had skyscrapers and a subway system.
NP makes out that San Clemente had a population too, but during the 2000 US Census it was recorded as The island is officially uninhabited !!! Maybe he was getting confused with San Clementein Orange County California which has a population of about 66,000 but is more to the NE on the mainland?

Oh hang on, maybe this book IS set around San Clementein Orange County only after it was dragged 50 miles out to sea by a pair of hugh mega Ishmael type Bio-Wep modified sperm whales to save it from the big bang...

    Yes, thats it !!!

On page 41, it claims Hobart was "fairly close" to Front Royal.  After a chase in a decked-out school bus, it is revealed that they travel closer to one hundred miles and "encountered the foothills of the Rockies."  It further references the Rocky Mountains to The Darks in Montana.  Now, I know that nukescaping has occurred...  But how can you be fairly close when Hobart is roughly 100 miles from the Rocky Mountain foothills and Front Royal is on the other side of the Appalachian Mountains?  I don't know who to blame for this one.  The writer or the editor...  Sad.
