Just picked up a brand-new post-holocaust novel titled - CANNIBAL REIGN.

Got a few solid reviews on Amazon.com. Sounds really good. After I read it I will pass along whether it is worth reading. If anyone has read this, what did you think?

What are some recent post holocaust novels you liked or are reading?

Lets see what I have read recently...

    The Road by Cormac McCarthy
I highly recommend this book, far better than the film.

Plague of the Dead: The Morningstar Strain by Z. A. Recht
Angood Zombie story, part one of a trilogy.

Thunder and Ashes: The Morningstar Strain by Z. A. Recht
    Book 2

Survivors: The Morningstar Strain by Z. A. Recht
Book 3. Sadly this one had to be finished by a ghost writer as the author died sortly before it was finished. The whole trilogy is worth reading.

A CANTICLE FOR LEIBOWITZ By Miller, Walter M
One of THE greatest post holocaust stories ever written (in my opinion) READ IT.

Hiero's Journey by Sterling E. Lanier
If you like Fallout then you will like this.

The last two you may have to search second hand book stores for as they are quite old but if you get a chance to read them do.

    PS
My latest purchase is Double dead by Chuck Wendig, a tale of a vampire who awakens to a modern day world ravaged by a zombie plague. He is forced to now protect those that he used to hunt sort of like a cattle farmer protecting his herd! Not started it yet, but will let you know what its like afterwards.

Billy Fish: He wants to know if we are gods.
Peachy Carnehan: Not gods - Englishmen. The next best thing.

I would like to add, as I had a previous convo with someone on here about it that the Borderlands-The Fallen is a very good read. Also the second book in the series is going to Highlight Mordecai the hunter, so I assume their will be 4 in the series as Roland was covered in the last novel. And it's coming out soon.

Also like to add that anyone into the post apacolyptic video games that are out send me a PM if you have an xbox handle. As I am alway's open to playing/chatting through some good games with like minded adults and not the typical band of 6-17 year olds which compromise xbox live...

Yeah, that was I you were talking about those books with.

There is going to be a Borderlands II book? I hope it is the same author.

And I too just ordered a cheap copy of that 1984 novel, Heiro's Journey. Sounds very good. Had a copy for less than 4 bucks. Thanks for the heads up, guys!

Anymore post-holocaust books out there someone wants to post about?

I used to own both of these books back in the 80's, but they were among the stockpile of books I never got around to reading.

Sadly, they were with the box of books I purged away when I moved out on my own.

Wow! Just finished reading the brand-new post-holocaust book - Cannibal Reign by Thomas Koloniar. Terrific! Out-bloody-standing! 5-star Best-Seller stuff, man!

If you miss this one, then you are missing one of the all-time best books of this genre. I've read them all, from Swan Song to The Road, and everything in between. This is top-grade writing and action adventure. Very character-driven. Very believable characters and action sequences.

My copy is still in my 'to be read' pile. I will let you know when I get to it. Right now I am reading Greig Beck's This Green Hell.

The Alex Hunter series is awesome!
