For anyone who is interested, there is a new Canadian magazine called Black Treacle that showcases "... Horror, Dark Fantasy, and Speculative Fiction." The first issue is just out as of the middle of February, and one of the stories in it is written by current Outlanders scribe Rik Hoskin - A Little Piece of Heaven.

Of the five short stories featured there, I liked four of them. I thought one of them was too clever by half; Although the writing itself was solid, I could see what the author was doing much too early for the final reveal to be surprising at all.

"Sadly then I knew the answer. All her life she was a dancer, but no one ever played the song she knew." - The Residents
