    Hi all.

Listening through the GA Deathlands and love the allusions to other works.  For example, in the New England setting of  Dectra Chain, there were references to Lovecraft's work and King's the Gunslinger was standing around in Homeward Bound.  Just finished listening to Seedling and the elfin girl dancing along the wag has me stumped.  My first thought was Helprin's A Winter's Tale because of the New York setting.  However, I haven't read it.  Any ideas?  Anyone have a list of referenced works in the Laurence books?  Can't wait to hear from ya.

    Thanks!

I noticed in one book (The one where the rescue the baron being raped at the gas station) that the cold hearts were named after Doc Savage's crew. Another Lovecraft reference in the book with the vampires...they have a copy of the Necronomicon,

Welcome aboard to you both, hope you enjoy your time around here

This and many more things Laurence put in his books have been discussed on and off here over the years. most if not all of them are "tips of the hat" from Laurence to his favorite authors, actors, friends etc. I know what many of these are direct from Laurence himself but the dancing girl was one that I missed and never asked about, sadly now we will never know.

Milo you could be right about a winters tail as Laurence was well read and it does appear to fit.

Thanks for posting these... but if you can, please be more specific - use the existing references as examples. Assume that no one else knows what the author is talking about - I, for one, have never played WoW, so I'd totally miss that one.

I think Kerrick means in which books do they appear?

    29 bloodlines:

Johannes Ford the movie maker in this book could be referring to John Ford who directed a lot of John Wayne movies.

That would help, yeah, but I meant add an explanation of the easter egg. If I need further information, I'll happily "Google the reference", but it would be nice if I didn't have to.
