Silentalbino, go ahead and buy SEVEN FORGES. I have the last 100 pages to read, but it already was worth the price. Very good action fantasy which has the feelings of the grand tradition of Conan the Barbarian.

Insofar as the daisy is concerned: It is the symbol of Hope.

It is funny that you ask this question, since I just finished MOTHERLODE last night.

Well, as much as I love and respect Victor Milan's work, this latest DL is just OK. Nothing mind blowing, unfortunately. It is not a bad book, just not a memorable one.

And to answer your question, Silentalbino, the author never tells you what state this is in. It is just called Amity Springs. Usually the back cover synopsis tells the reader where the companions are, but this one never does. Very strange. But after reading it, and trying to discern where in the DL this place could be, the surrounding countryside he describes could be somewhere out west, perhaps around New Mexico way. California?

Motherlode is pretty much another somewhat typical baron vs baron book. What was strange to me was, there were threads here that kinda went no where, and those story threads could have led to a much better storyline.

I don't know how much you fans out there want me to reveal here, so I will hold back from giving a full review here until you guys say you wanna hear more.

That's a shame. Been on a DL reading binge the last wee while, really enjoying it. Liked the idea of two competing Lady Barons.

As usual I have too wait forever for my copy to turn up.

No it does not start in the escape pod. Wished it had.

You might like it better than I did. Like I typed, it is not a badly written book.

My humble opinion is: Vic has just written better ones.

And the cover art for Motherlode has nothing to do with the story. That scene is not in the book.

Umm.. I don't think it really matters WHAT Krysty is doing on the cover.. Many of us will still buy it!

I should have been more specific, what I meant was why are they green on the cover of Motherlode?

I guess for the same reason that their centers are deep red in Dark Fathoms...

Ha ha I know you've read it. Usually Grantbo is the first to put up a review.

Grantbo? Who's that? Someone who rarely comes to the forum.

I sent in my review a while ago, along with others. But Ron hasn't posted 'em.

I think Ron has other.things far more important on his mind at the moment.

Why not copy your review into a post here?
