You first.

Your insult was completely uncalled for and a total violation of forum rules.

My post had no less or no more "value" than 99% of the posts made here in the last five years.

It was no different than any number of "I stopped reading DL when (fill in the blank)" or "I won't read OL because (fill in the blank)" kind of posts that have been made here since day one.

My post contained no personal insults or slurs. The same can't be said of yours.

Hey )3az )3aziah.  No, I was never a member of this site.  I have seen the names of those folks when they reviewed the books and I thought that they were members on these forums, as well.  I just had to join these forums because I have been a fan for years and it is good finding other folks who like the Deathlands universe.  By the way, do you or anybody you know have the whole collection of the series?  I am looking to buy them all.

I only surmised that you had been a member by your mentioning of several quite old members right off in your post.

Unlike most of the folk that come around here I still enjoy (and use the word “enjoy” quite loosely with some books) both Deathlands and Outlanders as series. OK they won’t win a Pulitzer Prize for literature but they keep me entertained (again each book on varying levels) whilst I read them.

As I said quite some time ago now DL (and sadly OL now as well) are like an aged faithful hound that limps around. You know you should part company with it but you keep it hanging around just in case it gets better…

I’ve got all the DL and OL books, all first editions with several of the early DL’s signed by Laurence James and several of the OL books signed by Mark Ellis. Sadly they aren’t for sale. They sure do take up quite a chunk of my shelf space though !

Sadly I must say that the Deathlands series is not what it use to be. In the last 5 years the series cant seem to get out of its slump. Vengeance Trail was the last 10 out of 10 for me. It came out june 2005 followed by the worst book in the series Ritual Chill witch almost chilled me trying to get through it. Since then I can only come up with 6 books that I would tell a friend HEY read this book! Shatter Zone, Perdition Valley, Cannibal Moon, Sunspot, Desert Kings and Apocalypse Unborn wasnt to bad (I like the Magus) For the Deathlands fans who still love all the books I think thats great. I still love the series, and I still own all the Books, Audio books and I even still have most of the DH audio tapes which I will never part with. I have faith that 1 day a writer who is a fan of the characters, the history of the series and who has fresh ideas will step up and make the series truely great again
