Wow, this was an excellent story!  No really.   Whoever they put in to write this one did an outstanding job.

The writer showed a complete understanding of the characters as well as the equipment they carried.  The descriptions of the various characters reactions to various events were to the point, accurate and very appropriate to the story.  The story itself was super.  I liked the various twists and turn a lot.  It was one of those books you just couldn’t put down.

    It’s a winner.   Read it.

Now I have to totally disagree with the previous review. To me this was by far the worst of the Deathlands saga.  None of the group were in their normal character and the story line was poor.

I just didn not like it.

Kinda agree with ya, Duke. After reading the upcoming March edition - Blood Road Warriors - it paled in comparison.

Have to agree with the last two posts. As a VM written book it had to contain huge "bioweps", swamps, things only he has developed in his previous books and a storyline so weak is couldn't fight off a day old kitten...

Not the worst of the books in my opinion but not in my top 90 or so.

You mean there's actually a chance that this book is WORSE than Stagnant Swamp? Really?

Just read the first chapter and wow, how bad can it get? Did Victor really do any homework on the characters? I know he has written other books but this one just in the first chapter is really off. I mean since when does Krysty's boots have rubber tread, when can Mildred not handle a weapon after being in deathlands as long as she has, and the best, when does Mildred cry over a scrape and sprained thumb after firing a gun? Should I even finish reading this book? I understand describing the surroundings, but there were just to many adjectives. Is it just me or am I reading (hahaha) to much into this?

Yeah, Jak acted like he was in Arizona than his home state. I wished Milan would have made Jak center stage in that book, and utilized a solid backstory for Jak's return home.

Kinda wasted a possible great idea.

Well, after reading Hell Road, this one will pale by comparison. Although I like some of Milan's work. Vengeance Trail was pretty great.

I found the Technomads to be a bunch of idiots . Do we really have deathlands Werewolves or did I get mixed up?

Ryan offering to bed the swampy healer was funny. Once again Ryan is using psi powers to talk with Kristy which I found weird. I enjoyed the book in spite of its flaws .
