As per usual, the cover scan comes courtesy of Chris van Deelen.  The good news is, Warlord of the Pit is a Mark Ellis book.  The bad news is, it appears that this will be the last Ellis book in the Outlanders series.  At the very least, this is the last Ellis manuscript in the pipeline.

It might be more appropriate to qualify the above statement.

Warlord of the Pit is probably my last Outlanders novel...

    For Harlequin.

This is very bittersweet news...I'm glad there is one more OL written by its creator but on the other hand I wish I didn't have to give Gold Eagle any of my money.

You don't. Buy the book used but in excellent condition for $3.50 (or less) and send the difference to Mark as a thank you.

You gonna go all Destroyer on us?  'Cause that would be pretty nifty.....

I was just making an oblique comment about how everything I've created ends up back in my possession, by and by.

That's how it should be...no reason to give something to jerks who can't tell the difference between gold and turds.

Better yet go all Slaughter Realms on us?

The connection between OL and DL is almost non-existant nowadays...that was your plan all along right?

Out of curiosity, since you are so prolific, do you have a favorite creation?

    Ummm...

I suppose when it all shakes out, my favorite creation is Death Hawk--that's why his gun-totin' image is my icon.

Other than hardboiled detectives, the space opera sub-genre is probably my favorite in which to work.

I enjoyed crafting the stories of Death Hawk and his protosymbiotic partner, Cyke in the "graphic narrative" form.

Maybe one day if traditional publishing can ever recover from the karmic backlash through which it's suffering at the moment, I might write a Death Hawk novel.

Truth to tell, after all the novels I've written, I'm far more inclined to continue working in the graphic narrative form.

I'm a very visual writer as it is and I sometimes find cold prose stultifying and limited.

Besides, after about a year of doing graphic novels, I've found that --

(a)When all is said and done, it's about as lucrative as writing for Gold Eagle

    (b) It's waaaay more funner

    (c) No so-called editors are going to allow so called fill-in writers to ignore locked-down and established continuity in order to cram in their own creations of redneck dumb-assery

    (d) And I know exactly how much and where all the royalty money goes.

After seeing the "Babes of Gulliver Jones" art posted on your forum, it's easy to see why!

Whats funny is that I was just looking on Amazon and the EXACT SAME criticisms that all of us so-called hardline "Mark Ellis Only" fanatics had about Milans' OL contributions are repeated by the readers of Milans' Rogue Angel books.

I guess they're posted by the hardline "Alex Archer Only" fanatics, huh?
