Old vs New books 2656 4

Ok having listened to most (not all) of the first 33 books, and also having listened to book 97 (BTW I got book 97 to at least be somewhat up to date with you guys here) Ive noticed a few differences, note this could be a author thing..
1. Ryan is allot harder and colder, yet his word actually means somthing in 97, where as his word didnt mean shit in first 33 books.. honor in first 33 was a waste of time, now it matters..

Ok, I was once a fan of comic book wars (remember the 'what if' series) Im just curious, if Ryan and Trader were to fight to the death, say, in a jungle setting, starting say 2 miles apart, who do you think would win.. but I'm interest in the battle between the Trader in his prime, vs Ryan, not the old sickly annoying version of the Trader..

Ok, As Ive mentioned before, I listen to the Graphic audio versions of deathlands, as I drive all day, also it seems I don't have quite the problem of finding back books (though there are a few that seem to simply not ever be sold, and If I have to, Ill buy the actual books so I can fill in the gaps)
Anywhooo.. One thing the graphic audio books do is use certain music for certain situations, for battle for example, one of which is when Ryan and Cristy have sex, they have the 'Bow Chicka Bow ...

Apparently GE produced a stack of these for the San Diego Comic Con. One of them now adorns my office wall. Yay!
The poster is about 11' wide and 26' tall, and is from the cover to Plague Lords, although they took the skull from the back cover and moved it to the front where a dead animal used to be. Good choice.

In one of the first books it seems that Ryan and group end up mat-transing to the space station, it was one of the dreaded triple jumps, that actually seems like it would be a cool storyline for them to go there, do they ever actually explore the space station in any of the books If so what book number is it

Ok, call me crazy, but I love the trader, I like the flashback in the one book (time nomads or something, where he gets food poison) and I love the whole idea of him, I did NOT like the books where he joined Ryan and showed him as a ass.. I prefer the per asshole times when he had his convoy of Mobil death
The idea of the trader reminds me of mad max, mobile death on wheels, honorable to a point, but bas ass in a way...

Ok having heard most of the first 33 books, Ive noticed a few things that Mr James seems to like..
1. Tall people, he really likes tall people, from 6' 16 year old girls to barons, from sec men to strangers, he likes tall people..
2. He LOVES nightmares, on bad mat-trans jumps, he will describe for hours every single members bad dreams (audio book wise 1 1/2 cds sometimes not a fan of the looong nightmare descriptions)
3. Ryan and co. never seem to 'get it' I'll be listening, and clearl...

Getting hold of Axler books at reasonable prices can be difficult in the UK, so I was please to find this and 'Neutron Solstice' in a local car boot sale recently.
Just finished 'Ice and Fire' and enjoyed it alot. Felt even more like a Western than usual. In fact Rick even comments about the similarity to Yojimbo/Fistfull of Dollars.
Little differences are interesting compared to the recent books I'd read previously. Doc is more confused, Kyrsty's hair is more animated and there's a couple...

Hello, Ive just discovered Deathlands (Graphic Audio) Ive got books 2-11, 21 so far, and I love them!! It sucked they killed Lori Quint, anyway.. awesome series so far, Im trying to buy them in order, I haven't found 0 or 1 yet, and this week on the road Im gonna listen to 10 and 11 (and hopefully pickup 12, 13 if I can find them) Im very late to the game, but Im glad as I can hear them all for the first time!

I'm wondering if anyone remembers this (or has one). I remember before deathlands came out, a friend of mine showed me a promo pamphlet for it. I don't remember it exactly, but I seem to remember it was about half sheet size.
It had the center picture and map from the first book as well as some additional information about the series. I can't remember but I think maybe it had an excerpt from the book or maybe just general information.
Just wondering if anyone had one or scans of it or...

100th book celebration ideas 2565 3

The last newsletter suggested discussing ideas for the 100th book celebration.
One thing I'd love to see would be an art book with all the covers from the series (without the titles over the top of course).
One other that I'd especially like to see is the image in the middle of the first book with Ryan, Krysty, and JB in the redoubt. I always remembered liking that picture when the book first came out. You can see a corrupted version of it in the archive on the site here.
